Lambretta Frame Numbers or VIN

Below is a diagram showing you where you can find your VIN number. The bottom part of the picture shows where you can find your engine numberOn Italian machines, the Frame and Engine numbers will be different. On Serveta (Spanish) models, the Frame and Engine numbers should be identical.

Location of Lambretta Frame and Engine numbers

Fig. 1 is the location of the number on the Frame. From the kickstart side, the number is on the frame below and to the rear of the gas tank. The IGM numbers are not part of the frame number. The number should be a code (for the model) and a number for the number of the machine. i.e.: SX200 (for the model number) and 830001 for the number. The number is 6 digits long.
Fig. 2 is the location of the number on the engine. This area can be very dirty, and it is not always easy to read the whole number.

Indian numbers are a little different.

Models marked in RED were NOT imported to the USA in any real quantity (a few rare examples may be around). I have not marked the DL 150 in red because around 20 have been found, many of them ex-Police scooters, so we know a few were imported. I have heard of only 2 real SX150s found in the USA (not recent imports), the same goes for Li 125 Specials.
